"On Bullshit" by Harry G. Frankfurt. I caught the author and Princeton professor on 'The Daily Show' last night discussing the essential difference between lying(intentionally avoiding truth) and bullshitting(truth and the avoidance of it never enter the equation).

Seems to me bullshit is the direct descendent of 'means justify ends' thinking, indicative of all modern political philosophy.
