Malkmus' 'Face The Truth'
After that we started getting amped that Malky Malktokamous could still command the whole in-control-totally-desperate-not-giving-a-single-shit spectrum with his voice and could couple it with some seriously hot jams or hot licks or hot jicks or whatever. Plus “Post-Paint Boy” sounds exactly like an inexplicably unreleased Pavement track.

waterwear 4G scores a B+ , taking a hit for not guaranteeing safety of iPod while submerged. Only $24.95. Compared to the lillipod at $39.99, the otter box at $49.95, and the SV iPod from H2O audio for $149.95, the waterwear seems like the cheapest and best choice.

as a big fan of St.Germain (owning two albums - 'Tourist' and 'Boulevard'), I've got to check out 'Memento', a new album from blower, Pascal Ohse, a.k.a. Soel - described as "
...brilliant collection of music bridging jazz, ‘70s funky soul and R&B and ambient electronic music. Imagine the JB Horns smashed up with Miles Davis, Barry White and Brian Eno.....employs music from various points in his life, including world, spoken word grooves and samples by the Last Poets, the controversial pre-hip hop collective from the early ‘70s. Top that off with some politically inspired diva vocals and you have a batch of songs that will make you want to blow off work and spend the day in bed naked with your lover."

"I bought this iPod and I'm going to use it (how I see fit). Phooey."

PodShank(gg)ing - Hot iPod on iPod action - from modgods. Required hardware : iTalk - finally an excuse to purchase the mini recorder peripheral. Sounds way to easy. I love it.

Bart's Chalkdust Torture

logging, deforestation, tree harvesting, whatever your term of fancy, this giant tree-eating buggy-thingy looks like a helluvalot of fun to pilot.

I got to see some pretty awesome logging machines when I tree-planted a few moons ago. Ok, it was the summer of 1998. And acutally, they weren't for loggin, but rather for preparing a clear-cut for what the industry calls reforestation, but in reality is much closer to spot-treeing vast expanses of deflowered nature....or to be fair, a moderately successful venture that yields about 65-70% yearlings from all seedlings planted.

U2 Bruce?

"Uno, dos, tres, catorce. The translation is one, two, three, fourteen. That is the correct math for rock 'n' roll. The whole had better equal a lot more than the sum of its parts - or else you're just rubbing two sticks together."

"On Bullshit" by Harry G. Frankfurt. I caught the author and Princeton professor on 'The Daily Show' last night discussing the essential difference between lying(intentionally avoiding truth) and bullshitting(truth and the avoidance of it never enter the equation).

Seems to me bullshit is the direct descendent of 'means justify ends' thinking, indicative of all modern political philosophy.

Peak Oil =

PodBuddy FM :
The built-in all-original FM transmitter includes a patent-pending circuit that automatically selects and displays the best available FM radio frequency, permitting the user to simply accept that frequency, and tune the car radio to the same station, avoiding the constant hunt for open stations required by other music transmitters.

Looks good. Too bad you can't use it without removing your pod from its home inside a hard protective shell.
