unkut - for all your ol'skool needz.

heavy bronx - i think i saw these guys open for FatBoySlim in NYC, battling back and forth, throwing down ridiculous cuts, including some nirvana, if my memory serves me.

oxymorons [via]

This is too much fun. If you followed the Knowledge mag link yesterday, clicked on audio, then world mixing, you did the right thing. I just signed up, opened the mixing console, and started spinning good virtual vinyl. the selections are excellent throughout a wide variety of genres. now all i need is a soother and some digital camo threads.

boozoo bajou gives us "Killer" off the forthcoming 'Dust my Broom'

oh, and thanks !K7 for the shitty e-card that didn't work...what's loading?

Too Long?

Baile Bonanza - lame title, eh? I can't seem to locate that mix at turntablelab, but I found some other stuff that peeked my interest and tickled my fancy.

So I forget how I exactly came into possession of this mix cd, (I think back in my eBay vinyl buying days, so seeler threw in a copy of Knowledge, with Bukem on the cover) titled "Breaks, Bleeps & Other Noises" from Vitaminic. Needless to say, it's not for everyone, but is rewarding if you give it a chance. It's not the cleanest mixing you've ever heard, but then again that 'live/improv' feel is rare when not merely mixing vinyl. Track 8, whatever it's called, is where the dope shit hits ya.

whiles googling, I found liquidfunk

I wanted to post about a Shark Week program that featured free swimming with Great Whites off South Africa's coast, made possible by a burly and bearded camo-wetsuit-wearing dude with nerves far steadier than anything I've ever seen before. But it was last week, and the program listings have already been taken down at discoverychannel. So instead, leaping shark video.

i hope i get the chance to say good bye

"Call it Ours" by The Legends [via] on lakeshore records, which lead me to this giant of a gem...well the original (which leaves out tons of music used in the film - i HATE that) was killer, so i'd give the remix, 7 , maybe even 8 chances.

despite this bringing back bad memories, i might enjoy the "Indecision 2004" DVD.......and though this is somewhat dated news...all those neato science documentaries about the land bridge in the Bering Sea, and coastal migrations from Asia to the Americas during the last ice age...it may have happened, but seafarers were here first by some 35,000+ years.

The Blue Van - I need to hear more

project : garfield's meow mix needs some vetting, considering I practically know nothing about almost every artist hereto listed:

Peter Case & Dave Alvin – Monday Morning Blues
Dan Bern – New American Language
Butch Hancock – Mario y Maria
Bob Mould – Comeonstrong
Brendan Benson – Good to Me
Dakota Suite – The cost of living
T.Rex – Life’s A Gas
Noonday Underground – The Hooded Claw
Damien Jurado – Texas to Ohio
Steve Wynn & the Miracle 3Amphetamine
Howie Beck – Baby Plays Around On Me
* Soundtrack of our Lives – Mind the Gap
Candidate – This is the Way
The Beta Band – Dry The Rain
Tommy James & The Shondells – Crimson And Clover
Neil Halstead – See You On Rooftops

* - at maxwell's tonight.

tho i hate 'best of, so far' lists, and the similar "this is the best movie of 2020, yet" I have to agree with coolfer that "...the underground has never been so mainstream." Frank gives his 5 cents as well.

also, I've seen one of these girls in a video, so I don't know if I'd call her a page3 girl. [hint, its the one on the right.]

P.S. - Hey Blogger, fix this picture feature already! My page loads like a fragile retiree trying to lift a grocery bag of the trunk...slowly and half-assed.
