I know it sounds bad coming from the reigning gold medalist country, but I have to agree with Gretzky that naming the Olympic hockey roster by 12/21/05, instead of the IOC deadline of 02/05/06, per the NHLPA's CBA input, though well-intended, won't yield the best teams which is afterall the idea of the Olympics. Then again, I could be just nervous that Wayner won't pick the right 23.
